Ingredients
  

Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Decoration
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup whipped cream for serving

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Make the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  2. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract.
Decorate the Cake
  1. Once the cake is completely cool, spread the frosting evenly over the top.
  2. Arrange sliced strawberries in a rectangle on the top left corner to represent the stripes.
  3. Place blueberries in the top left corner to represent the stars.
  4. Serve with whipped cream on the side.
