Ingredients

Steak and Marinade
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly ground
Bowl Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked brown rice
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup corn canned or fresh
  • 1 cup black beans canned, rinsed
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro chopped

Method

Prepare the Marinade
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, honey, and black pepper.
  2. Add the flank steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Grill the Steak
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  3. Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (130°F for medium-rare).
  4. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Assemble the Bowls
  1. In each bowl, add a base of cooked brown rice.
  2. Top with sliced grilled steak, cherry tomatoes, corn, black beans, avocado, and cilantro.
  3. Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
