Ingredients
  

Taco Filling
  • 1 lb ground turkey lean
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water or broth
Taco Assembly
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 cup tomato diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup sour cream optional
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped, optional

Method
 

Cook the Turkey
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  5. Pour in water and simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave.
  2. Spoon the turkey mixture onto each tortilla.
  3. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and cilantro if desired.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy your tacos!
