Cake Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup mashed ripe guava fresh or canned
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Frosting
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk adjust for consistency

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the mashed guava until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Frosting
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk until the frosting reaches a spreadable consistency.
Assemble the Cake
  1. Once the cake is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
  2. Slice and serve the cake, enjoying the tropical flavors.
