Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy cream chilled
  • 1 cup whole milk chilled
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or any flavoring of choice
Optional Mix-ins
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or fruit pieces
  • 1/4 cup nuts chopped

Method
 

Prepare the Base
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until well chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. If desired, add chocolate chips or nuts during the last few minutes of churning.
Freeze and Serve
  1. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  2. Scoop and serve as desired.
