Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/4 cups warm water for the dough
  • 4 teaspoons liquid honey for the dough
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 5 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons sea salt
  • 10 cups water for boiling
  • 1/4 cup liquid honey for boiling
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 2 tablespoons water for egg wash
  • 4 tablespoons Everything Bagel Seasoning

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, liquid honey, and active dry yeast. Let it sit until foamy.
  2. Add all-purpose flour and sea salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a bagel.
  7. In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and 1/4 cup of liquid honey to a boil.
  8. Boil each bagel for 1 minute on each side, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and 2 tablespoons of water for the egg wash. Brush the mixture over each bagel.
  10. Sprinkle Everything Bagel Seasoning on top of the bagels.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 18 minutes or until golden brown.
