- Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a pot.
- Add 4 teaspoons of Kashmiri green tea leaves and 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the boiling water.
- Simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the mixture reduces and darkens.
- Pour in 2 cups of milk and stir well.
- (Optional) Add 1 cup of heavy cream for extra richness and mix thoroughly.
- Sweeten the chai with 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder, adjusting to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped pistachios and almonds.
