Prepare the Patties
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently form into balls without overworking the meat.
Cook the Patties
- Preheat the griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the beef balls on the hot surface and smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy, then flip and add a slice of cheese to each patty. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Assemble the Burgers
- Toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown. Layer the bottom bun with lettuce, a patty, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
