Ingredients

Beef Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend for optimal juiciness
Burger Toppings
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese or your preferred cheese
  • 4 buns burger buns toasted
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 large tomato sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles sliced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard

Method

Prepare the Patties
  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently form into balls without overworking the meat.
Cook the Patties
  1. Preheat the griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the beef balls on the hot surface and smash them down with a spatula to form thin patties.
  2. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy, then flip and add a slice of cheese to each patty. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown. Layer the bottom bun with lettuce, a patty, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
