Method
Prepare the Cake
- Bake the vanilla cake according to package instructions and let it cool completely.
Make the Whipped Cream
- In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
Assemble the Trifle
- Cut the cooled cake into cubes.
- In a trifle dish, layer half of the cake cubes, followed by half of the whipped cream, and half of the mixed berries.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, finishing with a layer of whipped cream and a garnish of berries on top.
Chill and Serve
- Refrigerate the trifle for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld.
