Cooking the Burgers
- Preheat the griddle or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into loose balls.
- Place each ball on the hot surface and immediately smash it down with a spatula to form a patty.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes until a crust forms, then flip the patties.
- Add a slice of cheese on top of each patty and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
Assembling the Burgers
- Toast the burger buns on the griddle until golden brown.
- Layer lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the bottom half of each bun.
- Place the cooked patty on top of the toppings.
- Add ketchup and mustard, then top with the other half of the bun.
