Prepare the Patties
- Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and roll them into balls. Do not overwork the meat.
Cook the Burgers
- Preheat a griddle or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place the beef balls on the hot surface and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the edges are crispy. Flip the patties, add cheese on top, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
Assemble the Burgers
- Toast the burger buns on the griddle for 1-2 minutes. Layer the bottom bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and the cooked burger patty. Drizzle with your choice of sauce and top with the other half of the bun.
