Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 1 cup whole milk room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
