Ingredients
  

Jam Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and mashed
  • 2 cups granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 package fruit pectin such as Sure-Jell
  • 1 cup water for dissolving pectin

Method
 

Prepare the Strawberries
  1. Hull and mash the strawberries in a mixing bowl until you have a chunky puree.
Mix Sugar and Pectin
  1. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and fruit pectin. Mix well.
Combine Ingredients
  1. Add the sugar-pectin mixture to the mashed strawberries and stir for 3-4 minutes until the sugar is dissolved.
Prepare Pectin Mixture
  1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the remaining pectin and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Combine and Store
  1. Pour the hot pectin mixture into the strawberry mixture and stir for an additional 2 minutes. Pour into jars and let sit at room temperature for 24 hours before freezing.
