Method
Prepare the Strawberries
- Hull and mash the strawberries in a mixing bowl until you have a chunky puree.
Mix Sugar and Pectin
- In a separate bowl, combine the sugar and fruit pectin. Mix well.
Combine Ingredients
- Add the sugar-pectin mixture to the mashed strawberries and stir for 3-4 minutes until the sugar is dissolved.
Prepare Pectin Mixture
- In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Stir in the remaining pectin and boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Combine and Store
- Pour the hot pectin mixture into the strawberry mixture and stir for an additional 2 minutes. Pour into jars and let sit at room temperature for 24 hours before freezing.
