Ingredients
  

Strawberry Layer
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup for vegan option
  • 1 cup water for blending
Matcha Layer
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder ceremonial grade for best flavor
  • 1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sweetener of choice
Ice
  • 4 cups ice cubes

Method
 

Prepare Strawberry Layer
  1. In a blender, combine the fresh strawberries, honey, and water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds, if desired.
Prepare Matcha Layer
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk the matcha powder with a small amount of hot water until smooth.
  2. Add the milk and honey, and whisk until well combined.
Assemble the Drink
  1. Fill each serving glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour the strawberry mixture over the ice, filling the glass halfway.
  3. Carefully pour the matcha mixture over the back of a spoon to create layers.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy!
