Method
Prepare the Donut Batter
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the donut pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the beaten egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
Prepare the Swirls
- In a small bowl, mix the pureed strawberries with sugar.
- In another bowl, dissolve matcha powder in hot water.
Assemble and Bake
- Spoon the donut batter into the prepared pan, filling each cavity halfway.
- Add dollops of strawberry puree and matcha mixture on top of the batter.
- Use a toothpick to swirl the mixtures together gently.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
