Ingredients
  

Donut Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Strawberry Swirl
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries pureed
  • 1 tbsp sugar
Matcha Swirl
  • 1 tbsp matcha powder
  • 1 tbsp hot water to dissolve matcha

Method
 

Prepare the Donut Batter
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the beaten egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
Prepare the Swirls
  1. In a small bowl, mix the pureed strawberries with sugar.
  2. In another bowl, dissolve matcha powder in hot water.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Spoon the donut batter into the prepared pan, filling each cavity halfway.
  2. Add dollops of strawberry puree and matcha mixture on top of the batter.
  3. Use a toothpick to swirl the mixtures together gently.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
