Method
Prepare the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add softened butter, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Assemble the Cake
- Once the cake is completely cool, slice it in half horizontally.
- Spread a layer of whipped cream on the bottom half and top with sliced strawberries.
- Place the top half of the cake back on and cover the entire cake with whipped cream.
- Garnish with additional strawberries on top.
