Deliciously moist cupcakes soaked in a sweet three-milk mixture, topped with whipped cream.

Ingredients
  

Cupcake Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Tres Leches Mixture
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
Whipped Cream Topping
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare Cupcakes
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter, then add milk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each liner about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool.
Soak Cupcakes
  1. In a bowl, mix together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk.
  2. Once the cupcakes are cool, poke holes in the tops with a toothpick.
  3. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cupcakes, allowing them to soak in.
Prepare Topping
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  2. Top each soaked cupcake with whipped cream.
  3. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
