Method
Prepare Cupcakes
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter, then add milk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each liner about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool.
Soak Cupcakes
- In a bowl, mix together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk.
- Once the cupcakes are cool, poke holes in the tops with a toothpick.
- Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cupcakes, allowing them to soak in.
Prepare Topping
- In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Top each soaked cupcake with whipped cream.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
